England's Head Coach Thomas Tuchel asserted that he holds "no issue" with Jude Bellingham after the trio were left out the England team for forthcoming matches against Latvia and Wales.
Bellingham did not earn a recall despite returning from a shoulder injury, while the Manchester City and Everton players also miss out despite displaying improved form with their clubs.
Tuchel mentioned that the 22-year-old desired to be included of the selection, having spoken with him via telephone.
"He is a special player, and for exceptional talents there can often be exceptions," the coach said regarding the Real Madrid star, who has made just one start since returning to fitness.
"However we decided to maintain the simple decision of calling up the same group.
"Jude always deserves to be here. There is the factor that he has not fully regained his optimal form again at Real Madrid - he has not completed a full game.
"The player expressed a desire to be called up. We had a phone call."
Tuchel was keen to emphasize his positive relationship with the midfielder after Tuchel apologized to him previously for calling his conduct during a match as "disgusting" in a live interview.
The German stated that he used the words "unintentionally" and promised to be more cautious going forward.
When asked if he had any issue with the player, Tuchel said: "No. There is also no problem with Foden or Jack Grealish.
"Phil is back to influencing and shaping games for his club. Jack is almost to being back to the top form of himself.
"There is no personal issue."
Bukayo Saka taking the place of the hurt Noni Madueke is the sole alteration to last month's squad, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Quansah retaining their places after joining as last-minute call-ups last month due to injury.
England face Wales in a non-competitive match at Wembley on this Thursday before a World Cup qualifier in Riga on October 14.
If the team triumph in the away fixture, they will require a maximum of two more points from their final two qualifiers - against Albania and Serbia in next month - to earn a spot in next summer's World Cup in North America.
Impressive Display By the Manager
England delivered their finest performance significantly under the manager's guidance when they defeated Serbia five-nil away in the Serbian capital last time out.
The coach says that performance meant it an easy decision to keep mostly the same squad, though "there exist no certainties" for every squad member regarding selection.
"Our previous gathering was just a few weeks ago and the teamwork and morale was at its peak. That is the reason we chose to call up the same group to this session," he said.
"Phil is in a very good moment. Adam Wharton merits to be with us. Curtis Jones and Trevoh Chalobah are getting playing time with their clubs.
"We have players who deserve to be here. Palmer is injured and is a key talent. It will always be the case.
"Is our team a better team with Jude? Yes. But I mentioned before, what do we do if he is injured before the World Cup? Do we just cancel?"
Tuchel's Media Briefing Gets Noticed
The England manager again delivered a box office news conference.
Tuchel, a master of managing his interactions with the media, started with an opening statement to explain his reasoning for his decisions.
The midfielder is ready to play and wanted to come to camp, but the coach has said he did not want to change the team significantly after a statement five-goal victory over Serbia - where the manager said team spirit was at an all-time high.
However with him not including the star, and his repeated comments about team spirit, it is difficult to avoid link the aspects - although he said multiple times how he is "exceptional" and that there is "no issue" between Tuchel and one of the national team's star players.
The England manager has consistently made it evident that he aimed to make the England squad seem like a club team and, by retaining the identical selection after a statement win, he has achieved that. But the questions will arise once more in the following session if England perform strongly in these upcoming fixtures.
